Great comfort food... a Bacon Lover's Paradise
Very cozy, adorable, old school homestyle place. Portions are very favorable. Every thing we ordered was delicious and filling, I had leftovers. Staff was attentive, polite, funny and welcoming. Definitely will return and try to take on the Stack Attack Challenge. #goodeatingyall
Food alone earns this place 5 stars, as it has some of the best home cooking anywhere. If it's atmosphere you crave, go somewhere else. Poor Girls Cafe excels in friendly service, too, even when they are tired and want to go home. There is a completely separate dining area for smokers, with no 'flow through'. We wish we lived closer!!
Pancake is fluffy. I didn't offer the giant pancake, not the famous chicken fried steak. They look tasty. It's a local favourite restaurant. This place makes you feel like going to the grandma's house. I will go back again.
After wandering around the Chickasaw National Recreation Area for a few hours it was time for food. Checked maps saw Poor Girls Cafe, scanned a few reviews and decided to stop in. The reviews I read were not wrong. Walked in, grabbed a seat and was promptly greeted by friendly, efficient Rachel. Fantastic catfish dinner. White corn meal instead of yellow for a change. Awesome. The coleslaw was perfect and the mashed potatoes were delightfully lumpy. The whole experience is one that will bring me back again next time I'm in the area. Thanks to Rachel for the friendly service and to Poor Girls Cafe for a great meal.
